In light of the UK Governments announcement for England, we wanted to update on what the guidance is for lockdown due to COVID-19 in England.
From Thursday 5th November until Wednesday 2nd December, England will be under a stay at home order, meaning that people will only be allowed to leave the house for essential reasons, i.e going to work, going to school or going to buy food essentials. This means that non-essential retail, hospitality and leisure will be forced to close.
At this point in time, we understand these restrictions are exclusively in place in England, and that it will not impact on the Wales circuit breaker lockdown due to end next week, nor Scotland or Northern Ireland.
However, in line with leisure facilities being ordered to close – this means Gyms and other Indoor Sports facilities are unable to open until 2/12, and outdoor sports are banned when mixing between households. The government has extended it’s furlough facility to cover the month of November and the self employed help scheme has also been extended to support those working in the industry as a freelancer.
We will give further guidance, as and when we are able too – as well as suggesting some alternatives to keep active and healthy during this second lockdown.
